A booth running past its service life costs far more than the repair invoice sitting on your desk. Every extra hour in the bake cycle pushes the next car back, and the cycle-time numbers your insurer partners watch start slipping within a month.

That pressure is usually what sends a shop looking at a new Indiana auto body paint booth instead of another patch job.

We’re here if you need a paint booth partner for your automotive and collision business in Indiana.

We handle sales, installation, and service across the state through Indiana Spray Booth, our sister company. Reach out for an estimate and get the paint booth parts and services you need when you need them in Indiana.

The Proof Behind the Quote

Dave Marlow and JP Uren opened GSB in 2006 with a combined sixty years in collision repair between them. GFS, whose booths we distribute, points to our record of finishing projects on time and on budget. Our six crews still work to meet and exceed that standard. A booth we install and maintain should return 20 years or more of service. That horizon is what we spec equipment against, rather than the lowest number that clears a budget line this quarter.

Why Indiana Shops Run Their Booths Harder Than Most

Indiana carries more finishing work per capita than most states, and the demand pushes in two directions at once. Collision volume concentrates around Indianapolis, while industrial and fleet coating runs up the US-31 and I-69 corridors.

Shops in both lanes tend to buy later than they should, then run the equipment well past the point where service calls stop being occasional.

By the time a booth becomes the visible constraint, it has usually been quietly costing money for a year or two.

Collision Volume in the Indianapolis Metro

Shops across Marion and the surrounding counties run high car counts against insurer cycle-time targets, so a booth bottleneck lands on a scorecard within weeks. A collision center paint booth in Indiana almost always fails throughput before anyone complains about finish quality.

Manufacturing and Fleet Coating Across the State

Kokomo and Fort Wayne carry plants and fleet yards that coat larger parts on far longer duty cycles than a body shop ever will. Those operations need bigger enclosures, heavier airflow, and filtration built for continuous production rather than a handful of cars a day.

Older Booths Still Running Original Equipment

Plenty of shops around the state are working in booths installed 15 or 20 years ago, still on the original motors, filters, and control panels.

Parts availability drops off long before performance does, which turns a routine failure into a two-week wait for a component nobody stocks anymore.

Replacing a booth comes down to four decisions: the enclosure and airflow design, the lighting, the filtration stack, and the compressed air feeding your guns. Get any one of them wrong, and the result shows up in your finish, your rework rate, or your utility bill.

Shops usually discover the weak link a year after the install — often once the warranty conversation has already closed.

GFS Booths, Standard and Custom

Global Finishing Solutions builds the downdraft and semi-downdraft configurations most shops run, along with custom enclosures sized to whatever you actually paint. We spec the layout around your existing bay footprint rather than bending your floor plan around a catalog model.

Lighting That Shows Defects Before the Customer Does

Weak lighting inside an enclosure hides runs, dry spray, and orange peel until the car sits under the sun in your lot. Upgraded booth fixtures cut rework by letting your painter catch a problem while the panel is still wet.

Filtration Sized for Your Actual Volume

Filter stacks rated for a light car count clog quickly under production loads, which drops booth pressure and pulls dirt straight into your finish. We size intake and exhaust media against the hours you genuinely run, not the hours a spec sheet assumes.

Compressed Air and Support Equipment

Moisture sitting in an air line will ruin a panel that came out of a perfectly sound Indiana auto body paint booth. We supply Tsunami drying systems, Champion compressors, and AIRCOM piping alongside every booth install.

GSB opened in 2006 as a service outfit rather than a sales floor, and the maintenance side still drives how we operate.

Buying equipment from us puts you on the same call list as the shops we service every month. That placement decides how fast somebody shows up when a fan quits on a Friday afternoon.

Turnkey Installation and Layout Design

Our crews handle removal of the old unit, site prep, installation, and layout design, so your bays flow the way your team already works. Collision center paint booth installs in Indiana run through Indiana Spray Booth, which keeps the scheduling and the crew local to you.

Preventive Maintenance Programs

Scheduled filter changes, pressure washing, and panel repainting hold a booth inside spec instead of letting it drift until something breaks. Shops on a maintenance program spend less in a year than shops that pay emergency rates twice in the same season.

Emergency Repairs on Any Brand

We service and repair every booth and compressor brand, including units we never sold you in the first place. Emergency calls go to dedicated technicians instead of a manufacturer queue, so your downtime does not depend on a factory ticket number.

Upgrades and Retrofits

Swapping a control panel or adding an accelerated drying system often buys several more years out of a booth with a sound shell. Dealership paint booth service in Indiana leans heavily on retrofits, since fixed-ops budgets rarely clear a full replacement in a single cycle.

Filters, Parts, and Consumables on Hand

We stock filter media, motors, and control components for the brands we service, and we cut filters to size on site for nonstandard fits. Waiting on a distributor for a part you burn through every month costs your shop more than the part itself.

Meeting Indiana’s Automobile Refinishing Rule

Indiana regulates auto refinishing under 326 IAC 8-10, and the rule reaches nearly every shop in the state.

If you refinish the equivalent of more than three motor vehicles a year, you are covered by it. Aerosol coatings, graphic design work, and touch-up applications sit outside the rule.

IDEM publishes sector guidance for collision shops that walks through air, waste, and water requirements together. Four obligations under the refinishing rule affect how you run the booth itself.

  • Coating VOC limits: Caps apply by category, including 4.8 pounds per gallon for primer-surfacer and 5.0 for single- and two-stage topcoat.
  • Work practice standards: Spray gun cleaning, solvent handling, and container storage all fall inside the rule.
  • Operator training: Your program has to include written procedures and hands-on demonstrations, not one or the other.
  • Recordkeeping: Coating VOC data and supplier documentation stay on file and accessible on site.

On top of the state rule, federal Subpart 6H covers hazardous air pollutants in overspray, including chromium, lead, and nickel. Shops that use no coatings containing those metals can petition EPA for an exemption.

In short, for compliance, your enclosure should keep overspray off the shop floor and fumes off your people.

At GSB, we can make that happen for you.

What Happens When You Call for an Estimate

  • How the On-Site Assessment Works

A technician walks your bays, checks airflow and pressure on the existing unit, and measures the available footprint. You end up with a written scope separating what should be repaired from what should be replaced.

  • Response Times Backed by Six Crews

Six trained crews and a dedicated emergency bench cover the territory, which keeps repair scheduling in our hands rather than a manufacturer’s. Dealership paint booth service in Indiana runs on that same coverage whether you have one bay or six.

  • Coverage Beyond the State Line

Indiana Spray Booth covers Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois, inside a network that serves more than 30 states east of the Rockies. Multi-location groups get a single point of contact instead of chasing a separate vendor in every market.

Pricing a New Indiana Autobody Paint Booth Against Your Current Downtime

Do you need a new booth for your Indiana automotive and collision business? One way to find out is by running your numbers.

Know What a Slow Cycle Costs Per Car

An extra 40 minutes per vehicle across 15 cars a week works out to roughly 10 hours of lost bay time every month. Factor in the rework a failing filtration stack causes, and the figure climbs before you have priced a single piece of equipment.

Then Run Your Own Numbers

Our ROI calculator takes your car count, labor rate, and current cycle time, then returns a payback window for your budget conversation.

Walk in with that figure, and we can talk throughput and equipment instead of guesswork.

Get an Estimate for Your Indiana Shop

The state refinishing rule, insurer cycle-time targets, and thinning parts availability all push the same direction. Each year you wait, the case for holding onto an aging booth gets weaker. One visit tells you whether the unit has life left in it or whether replacement has become the cheaper path.

Reach out to our partners in Indiana for a custom quote, and we will schedule your on-site assessment.
